Mattress and bedding: what to look for
You choose a cot with your eyes, but your child sleeps on the mattress. And what you'll be washing isn't the furniture — it's the bedding, sometimes at 3am and twice in a row.
The mattress
It has to match the base exactly, with no gaps at the edges. We select it for the model you choose, so you don't have to hunt for one or measure anything yourself.
The bedding
Bedding is made from dense 100 % cotton sateen: it takes frequent washing without losing softness or sheen. Sets are chosen in the same palette as the furniture, so the room looks considered rather than assembled from whatever was available.
What people usually add
- a mattress cut to the base;
- a bedding set with a fitted sheet;
- bumpers and a canopy, if you like them;
- a spare set — you will need one in the first year.
